Implementing the GAIN

There are some requirements to fulfill and considerations to be made before implementing the GAIN at your agency or program, within your system or state, as part of a grant application, or for analysis and publication. There are several steps that must be taken to ensure the GAIN is incorporated in the most effective way possible.

At minimum, a GAIN License must be completed in order to utilize any of the GAIN instruments. A GAIN ABS web account should be set up if you would like the benefit of interactive interviewing, clinical narratives and reports at the click of the mouse, and a data set for analysis and reporting.

Though not required, our training services are highly recommended for those using the GAIN Initial or the GAIN Q3. The validity and accuracy of the data collected and the efficiency of services provided are affected by the skills of those administering and interpreting the assessment. Our administration and clinical trainings help build competence and confidence in GAIN use.

GAIN Data Management Services are essential for long-term implementation of the GAIN and for maintaining quality data. These services include reviewing data for anomalies, providing reports on site characteristics, and assisting with the preparation of a site's aggregate data for analysis.
