GAIN Clinical Interpretation Training

The GAIN Clinical Interpretation Training and Certification process is designed to help agencies more effectively incorporate information from the GAIN and the GAIN Recommendation and Referral Summary (GRRS) into treatment planning. The training and certification process is also designed to help attendees train others at their agency to use the GRRS more effectively. The staff member selected to attend training should have:

  • Achieved GAIN certification
  • Clinical experience or a clinical background
  • Significant experience using the GRRS (10-20 cases using the GRRS is optimal)
  • The capability to train others at their agency how to best utilize the GRRS for effective treatment planning.

During the training process, attendees learn how to most efficiently utilize and edit the GRRS and how to interpret the Individual Clinical Profile (ICP). This level of training also allows trainees gain a better understand of the GAIN's problem-severity measures and how they should be used to inform the clinician's treatment planning process.

Those who attend the 3.5-day GAIN Clinical Interpretation Training are eligible to complete GAIN Clinical Interpretation Certification. This is a three-stage certification process that must be completed within 90 days after the training has concluded. The total cost to attend the training and complete the certification process is $4,000.
